Hiking near the town of Hverageri, Iceland proved to be amazing and cheap! While all the tourists spend their money going to the Blue Lagoon for $125 each, you can go on this amazing hike, sit it the hot river, and relax for free! The river is fed by hot springs that make it a must to see. While hiking you will pass many hot springs that will make you feel like you are on another planet. At the end of the trail there are places to change (not too private) and then soak your cares away.
The hot springs hike is a modest hike. Not too steep. Approximately 4 miles round trip. Some had hiking poles others did not.

Hveragerdi is a small town nestled below a beautiful back drop of mountains. There are a few restaurants and an amazing bakery. We stopped at the bakery to get our lunch before we hiked.
Kathycooks4u made a traditional European breakfast and a traditional Icelandic dinner after the hike. This adventure was planned by foreventuretravel.com. Check out their website for an amazing tour!
