Week 13 - 3 meals with Pinto beans (homemade)

You may be saying, "why on earth would I make my own beans, when I can buy canned beans". Well let me tell you, once you taste homemade beans you will be amazed at the flavor. Think of the difference between how homemade soup tastes compared to canned soup. It is the same with beans. They freeze so easily too.


Beans are so filling and nutritious! 1 cup of pinto beans has 41 grams of protein. They are also high in calcium, iron, B6, and Magnesium. Some people just don't understand what that means though........

*Magnesium - This mineral helps us with increased energy, calms nerves and anxiety, treats insomnia, helps relieve constipation, relieves muscle aches and spasms, prevents migraines, and regulates levels of calcium, potassium and sodium. This is just a few!!!


*B6 - This vitamin helps to maintain healthy blood vessels, improve our mood, support brain function, helps treat high blood pressure, and relieve PMS.


Now think of all the foods that you eat in a day....Do they provide your body with what it needs to thrive? Or do we feed it processed junk that has no value to our bodies?


Try this week to avoid foods that have no nutritional value! And FYI there are store bought cookies out there that have nutritional value. I am not saying to stop enjoying food. What I am saying is to find nutritional value in the foods you enjoy.
